Going to ER? Don't Forget These...
12 Jun 2008
When you go to the hospital for outpatient services, either take your medications before you go, or take them with you. Outpatient services such as emergency room, observation, laboratory, radiology, cardiac catheterization lab, or surgery can take several hours. Take all medications in their original prescription containers.
Medications are available at the hospital, but they will cost more and getting them may be inconvenient.
Unless your doctor has instructed you not to take your pills, tell the hospital staff what you will be taking.
The staff will check to see if anything they might give you could negatively interact with your home medications.
